Hi there! My name is Miriam Perez
- - -
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where I dedicated my childhood to my gymnastics career. I trained about 35 hours a week from age eight to 18 years old. Throughout the years, I had the great privilege of training with Olympic-level athletes from all over the world. The experiences and training I endured in my club gymnastics days helped me become a student-athlete for The Ohio State University.
During the 2020 gymnastics season, I was injured. Although I was not able to compete, I found that I could still contribute to my team through photography. I had never picked up a camera before but soon found myself falling in love with capturing the excitement and beauty of sports.
Since then, I have freelanced for The Lantern (Ohio State's school newspaper) and I am currently a digital media intern for Ohio State Athletics. In my current internship I have been able to shoot photos at different sports events, curate content for their various social media platforms, and build pages for their website.
I am happy to announce that I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Strategic Communications degree and a Creative Writing minor in the Spring of 2023. As for my future, I am looking forward to pursuing a career in digital media within sports!
I hope you enjoy looking through my portfolio :)
